Oriya Chicken Pulao

Ingredients:
1. Basmati rice (1 cup)
2. Chicken (100g)
3. Onion (1)
4. Garlic (2 cloves)
5. Cumin seeds (1 tsp)
6. Cooking oil (1 tbsp)
7. Salt (as per taste)
8. Water (2 cups)
Instructions:
1. Rin up the chicken and set it aside. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
2. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
3. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
4. Next, add the chopped onions and garlic to the pan and sauté until they’re golden-brown.
5. To the pan, add the chicken and cook until it’s browned on all sides. Add salt to taste.
6. Now, add the basmati rice into the pan and stir well to combine everything.
7. Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Leave it to cook for 20-25 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the water and is tender.
8. Your classic Oriya Chicken Pulao is ready to be served.
