Ingredients:
– 30g mutton (lean cut)
– 20g moong dal
– 10g rice
– 2 dried red chillies
– 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
– Salt to taste
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– 1/2 tsp red chili powder
– 1/2 tsp Ghee (clarified butter)
Instructions:
1. Rinse and soak rice and moong dal for 30 minutes.
2. Boil the mutton pieces with salt and turmeric until it becomes tender.
3. Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and dried red chillies. Stir fry them until you get a nice aroma.
4. Now, add boiled mutton, red chili powder and sauté for a minute.
5. Add soaked rice and moong dal to the pan and mix well.
6. Cook for 10-15 minutes on medium flame, stirring occasionally, until all the water is absorbed and the khichdi is done.
