Rajasthani Panchmel Dal & Steamed Brown Rice

Recipe:
1. Soak 20g each of toor dal, chana dal, green moong dal, matki, urad dal for 30 minutes.
2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dals with 1.5 cups of water, salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric and cook for 4 whistles.
3. For tadka, heat 1 tsp of oil, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 2 dry red chillis, 2 cloves of chopped garlic and sauté until they change color.
4. Add 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato and cook until soft. Add 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, and sauté.
5. Now, pour the cooked dal to the tadka. Mix well, check for salt.
6. Serve the cooked dal over 60g of steamed brown rice.
