Spiced Goan Prawn Pulao

Recipe:
1/4 cup Basmati Rice
60 g Prawns
1 tsp Oil
1 small Onion (finely chopped)
1 Green Chilli (slit)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala
Salt to taste
1. Soak the basmati rice in water for about 15 minutes, then drain.
2. Heat the oil in a pan and add the finely chopped onions. Saute until they turn golden brown.
3. Add the slit green chilli, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Stir well for the spices to blend in.
4. Now, add the prawns to the pan, and saute them until they curl and change colour.
5. Add the soaked and drained basmati rice to the pan. Stir gently for the rice and prawns to mix well with the spices. Add 1/2 cup water to the pan, and cover it with a lid. Let it cook on medium flame until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
6. Once cooked, turn off the flame and let the pulao rest for 5 minutes.
7. Serve the delicious Goan Prawn Pulao hot in a bowl.
