– 2-3 Green chillies
– Spices: Turmeric, Red chili powder, Biryani masala
– Oil (for cooking)
– Salt (to taste)
Recipe:
1. Rinse basmati rice under cold water until water runs clear, then soak it for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, thoroughly wash the chicken pieces.
2. Heat oil in a bowl. Add finely sliced onions, and sauté them until golden brown.
3. Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies to the pan. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, biryani masala and salt. Mix well until the masala blends with the veggies.
5. Now, add the chicken pieces to the bowl. Cook until the chicken becomes tender and the spices are well absorbed.
6. Drain the water from the rice and add it to the chicken. Mix gently, ensuring the rice is well coated with the masalas.
7. Pour in enough water to cover the rice and chicken. Cook on medium flame until the water is fully absorbed by the rice and it is fully cooked.
