Recipe:

Ingredients:

1. 60 grams Lean Minced Beef
2. 1/4th cup Rice
3. 1/8th cup Yellow Moong Dal (Split Yellow Gram)
4. 1 small finely chopped Onion
5. 1 small finely chopped Tomato

Spices:

1. 1 teaspoon oil,
2. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder,
3. 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder,
4. Salt as required

Instructions:

1. Thoroughly clean and rinse the rice and dal. Soak them in water for 30 minutes.

2. On a medium flame, heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add the chopped onions, saute till translucent.

3. To this, add minced beef. Cook until it changes in color.

4. Now add chopped tomato, turmeric, and red chili powder. Mix well.

5. Drain the water off the soaked rice and dal, add to the cooker. Sprinkle salt as per taste.

6. Stir gently, adding around 3 cups of water.

7. Close the lid of the cooker, pressure cook for 3 whistles, then keep on low flame for about 5 minutes.

8. Let it rest until the pressure releases naturally. Once done, fluff up the Khichdi gently.
